Our department aims to train specialists with basic education in the field and prepare them for graduate education. The department offers a four-year undergraduate program. The graduate program is carried out in coordination with Kayseri University Graduate Education Institute with the contributions of the faculty members of the Department.

The students who successfully complete this program are: 1.Have knowledge of the basic fields of history such as Prehistory, Ancient, Medieval, Modern, Modern Age and the Age we live in. 2.To have the ability to conceptualize events and phenomena related to the field of history; to examine them with scientific methods and techniques; to interpret and evaluate data, to identify and analyze problems, to develop solutions based on documents and research. 3.Have the knowledge of evaluating the nature, source, accuracy, reliability and validity of historical science. 4.Have the knowledge of comprehending the methods related to the production of historical scientific knowledge. 5. To be able to comprehend the basic qualities of interdisciplinary approach and have the knowledge to use it in professional qualification processes. 6.Gains the ability to establish a relationship between the concept of national culture and international culture and civilizations and has the knowledge of living in different cultures.
